Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an interpersonal communication model applied in psychotherapy and other contexts of communication and change. NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a name that encompasses the three most influential components involved in producing human experience: neurology, language and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we interface and communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create. Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay effects our body and behavior (programming).
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a behavioral technology, which simply means that it is a set of guiding principles, attitudes, and techniques about real-life behavior, and not a removed, scientific theorem. It allows you to change, adopt or eliminate behaviors, as you desire, and gives you the ability to choose your mental, emotional, and physical states of well-being. NLP is a very pragmatic technology based on an ability to produce your desired results, thus allowing you to become proficient at creating your future. Neuro Linguistic Programming, or NLP, is the art and science that can be described in a nutshell, as an "attitude and a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques."
First, the attitude of of Neuro-Linguistic Programming is one of curiosity and experimentation. Next, the methodology is modeling, which is the process of duplicating excellent behavior. Another person's behavior can be duplicated by studying what that person does inside their head (language, filters, programs, etc.) to produce results.
To be very simple and clear NLP is the communication model which we the Psychologist used in the counseling or psychotherapy. It is the combination of body, language and behavior. In the regular life people used it during interviews, sales and marketing. I would like to mention some of NLP techniques we use in sales and marketing are;-
1- Rapport in NLP is a specific technique to increase the responsiveness of your prospect. In NLP there are many different processes and techniques that you can use that will allow people to become more responsive. These include pacing and leading, covert hypnosis and building anticipation loops, e.g buy one get another half price. You need to develop anticipation and excitement over either the product or the results the product can bring would be useful to any sales professional. Another example is if you meet a good old friend whenever you start discussing about your old good time you both has different experience and way to explain it.
2- Control emotion and state management through NLP. Just consider for a moment that you could turn any negative thought into positive motivation. Would that make a difference to your world? Many sales professionals face a lot of rejection. The best sales people understand that this is not a personal issue and just move onto the next job. World is not ended with 5-10 rejections. Desperation in sales are high so NLP can manage your emotion and state of mind. Motivation and high in spirit makes you succeed in any part of the life. Now let’s consider the idea that it is possible to control the emotions of other people. In a sales context this might mean getting people in an excited state and attaching that to buying your product or service. Another application might be in an ongoing relationship where you get your customer to attach good feelings to meeting you. This will mean that they will be looking forward to your regular meetings as opposed to considering them a formality or even a waste of time.
3-Much is talked about convert NLP hypnotic techniques and hypnotic language patterns. A large part of NLP is about influence and persuasion skills and how hypnotic language applies to it. Language is just one filter that we use to encode meaning on our experience. The words that we use and the way that we use them set a direction in our minds. The same is true for anything that I might say and that you listen to will set a direction in your mind. By understanding this process you can move the minds of your prospect in a particular directions. What this means in practice is that you can get people excited about things, bypass arguments and objections and even change beliefs. By using liveliness ,pleasant/behavioral modeling, interventions, beliefs, strategies, and assertive communication techniques you can easily achieve any goal in sales and marketing.
God bless and keep smiling!
